this still breaks me (6 years later)
Sep. 10th, 2007 06:50 pmThe little girl in this song must be like nine or ten by now.
They lit up the Pentagon where the plane hit. I had never seen it before. I rarely traveled to Virginia before. It was blue and bright and sad.
I remember on the 10th, I finished the diary I had in Germany. It was the last page, and I was having one of those days, and the focus on my entry was something needs to change in my life because if I don't have a distraction soon, I will fall apart.
Where were you on 9/11?

Mar. 11th, 2002 10:52 amI had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again
She spilled her coffee
Broke her shoelace
Smeared the lipstick on her face
She slammed the door and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again
And she swears there's nothing wrong
I hear her playing that same old song
She puts me off and puts me on
I had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again
No
And she swears there's nothing wrong
I hear her playing that same old song
She puts me off and puts me on
Oh and I had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again
She left a note and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day
All right
six months ... we'll never forget ...
She said I would not understand
